20 Years of a Dream That Crossed the Ocean

20 Years of a Dream That Crossed the Ocean

A journey that began in La Alberca and transformed the story of Ibérico in the United States

A journey that began in La Alberca and transformed the story of Ibérico in the United States

This story isn’t just ours.

It belongs to everyone who believed in a dream that, 20 years ago, crossed the ocean to open a new chapter for Ibérico around the world.

It all began in La Alberca, a small village in the mountains of Salamanca, where Fermín and Victoriana, with nothing but love, hard work, and determination, laid the first stone of what would later become a historic milestone. Years later, their children, Santi and Paqui, carried that legacy forward. Thanks to their leadership—and the commitment of a team that believed in the dream, FERMIN became, in 2005, the first company to export Ibérico ham to the United States.

That moment marked the beginning of a new era. Not only for FERMIN, but for the entire Ibérico industry.

Celebrating at Home: La Alberca as the Heart of a Legacy

Celebrating at Home: La Alberca as the Heart of a Legacy

Earlier this month, we returned to the source—our home in La Alberca—to celebrate this milestone with the people who made it possible.

The event brought together family members, friends, longtime colleagues, partners, and members of the media from across Spain, all of whom have played a vital role in this journey. For two days, we gathered in gratitude to honor the people who’ve walked beside us, from the very beginning to today and who are now part of our extended family.

The presence of national and regional media helped us share this moment far beyond our village, multiplying the reach of our message and the joy behind it.

A Story That Keeps Growing

A Story That Keeps Growing

Twenty years later, the dream behind FERMIN continues to evolve. We keep growing—rooted in the same land, guided by the same values, and surrounded by the people who make everything possible.

We don’t just bring Ibérico to new tables, we bring a way of doing things: artisanal, respectful, rooted in family, and committed to excellence.
